List of gymnastics flips

This is a list of flips found in gymnastics. Gymnastics flips are acrobatic moves in which a person rotates one or more times while airborne, with hips passing over the head and without hands touching the floor. They are performed in both men's and women's gymnastics, on various apparatus including the balance beam, vault, and floor.
==Classifications==

Four body forms are commonly employed in gymnastics flips:
* Aerial - unbent knees, with legs in a split and aligned on the rotational plane
* Layout - body fully extended with legs together and unbent hips and knees
* Pike - bent hips, with knees straight and legs together
* Tuck - legs together, with knees fully bent and drawn to the chest
Many flips are descriptively named based on the direction of rotation and the body position that is assumed during execution. In general, the body rotates in a face-first direction in a ''front'' flip and in the opposite direction in a ''back'' flip. For example, in a ''front pike'' the body rotates face first while in pike form, and in a ''back tuck'' will rotate in the opposite direction while held in tuck form.
